(Indoor) Sunbathing 101

We are well into the throes of a frigid winter, and unless you are reading this in Florida or southern California, you are probably looking for a simple method to keep from freezing.

Well, my friends, you’re in luck because today Sid would like to show you his favorite technique for beating the cold: Sunbathing! Indoors!

The first step is to bundle up in some thick warm apparel, preferably dark in color (it absorbs the heat better). You might try a cozy fleece sweater similar to the one our model is sporting.

The next step is to locate the spot in your home with maximum sun exposure. Keep in mind this spot will slowly move throughout the day, so be prepared to shift every hour or so.

Sprawl out in a comfortable position and start absorbing those wonderful warm sun beams. That’s it!

Good luck keeping warm folks!

Fading

Hey guys and gals! My Dad has been rushing around buying Christmas gifts so it’s me reporting today.

Oh, have I got a story for you!

IMG_9632

See, I was out walking at the park when all of a sudden…

IMG_9633

Whoa, sorry there. Let me start again.

So, I was out strolling at the park like usual when…hang on a sec, let me just get a little more comfortable…

IMG_9639

OK. Um, where was I? Uh…the park…right…strolling…

IMG_9641

…yes, the park. It’s…such…a nice…birds…smelling trees…sometimes food scraps…

Hibernation Preparation

Hi everyone!

Sid here today. I’m sorry I’ve been away for a bit. I had been reading about bears and hibernation and thought I’d give it a try since the weather has started getting colder here.

IMG_8954

I’m a champ at taking naps and thought this would be pretty easy. Well, I was only able to hibernate for about 4 hours before I started getting hungry and had to go stare at my dad and persuade him to give me a few treats. So bears go the WHOLE WINTER without eating? I don’t know how they can do it. I can barely go an afternoon! Do you guys have any hibernation tips for me?

Luxury Lounging

And so Sid’s Birthday month continues on…

Since he was turning the big 1-0 this year, I thought it’d be okay go a little overboard with regard to Sid’s Birthday present. At Pug Slope, we don’t mess around. When we decide to go big, we GO BIG. Literally.

Somehow as soon as the monolith entered our apartment, Sid knew it was for him. Maybe the cute graphic of the dog wearing a bowtie on the side of the box was a give-away. Or perhaps it is the fact that the majority of the letters and packages that arrive at Pug Slope HQ are inevitably for Sid.

Not caring who it came from, what it was doing here, or who it was actually for, Sid was determined to get that giant box open.

IMG_8661

Once he got the enormous box open he pulled out the BIG gift…

IMG_8666

He immediately hopped into the new bed, started spinning around and circles while digging at the pillow and bolsters to break it in. He’s very particular when it comes to his bed. Like most pugs, he’s crazy about bolsters, too, and this bed has the plushest bolsters I’ve ever seen!

So Sid, do you approve of this ridiculously luxurious new bed?

IMG_8667

WOO HOO!

I’ll take that as a yes.

IMG_8676

Wait, hang on a minute. What is going on here? Do you mean to tell me I could have saved myself some money and replaced your bed with a box from the recycle bin?! Oh brother.

The Tiny Paw Take

Sid was having one of his usual lazy mornings, you know, just layin’ on the ol’ paw, so I thought I’d tell him some news that would perk up his ears.

IMG_8227

Hey Sid, don’t you know that next weekend is your 10th Birthday?!

IMG_8230

“Uh, SAY WHAT?! Are you serious!?”

Yep, it’s true. My little buddy is turning 10 next weekend so we expect to do a month of celebrating (my Birthday is also in October). I’ve got to start planning now! Any suggestions for activities or gifts for a pug that’s turning the big one-oh?

Excellent at sorting socks and keeping them warm so they maintain their “fresh from the dryer” feeling.

May leave behind stray pug hairs…

and will definitely sleep on the job.

Tired to the Max

Sid reach a new level of exhaustion yesterday.

IMG_7410

He was pretty much horizontal from 3pm until bedtime. I actually had to wake him up to give him his dinner, which, as you know with pugs, is unheard of.

Now you’re probably wondering: “what sort of crazy activity would cause a pug to get THAT TIRED?” Well, I’m going to let Sid tell you all about it later this week, but here’s a little picture preview. Let’s just say it involved a pool, a plush potato, and about thirty pugs…
