Pug Pancake

Even though I deep-cleaned all of Sid’s beds down at the laundromat this past weekend and returned them to a fresh-smelling fluffy state, he insists on lying on the hardwood floor like a pancake.

I understand that during the sweltering summer months the cold floor tends to provide relief from the heat but it just snowed here on Monday, so we’re nowhere near summer.

Maybe I need to try lying on the floor with him to see what I’m missing out on.

Hibernation

Hi everyone!

Sorry that Sid and I have been absent lately. I’ve had a few other projects going on right now so I haven’t had a chance to document the day-to-day activities of my flat-faced companion. Although since it’s still pretty dang cold out in the Midwest, our adventures have been slim to none this past month.

So Sid has been in hibernation mode.

We have been getting a surprising amount of sunny days, though, which light up our apartment and create a multitude of perfect nap spots for this hibernating pug. Ah, the good life!

Preparing for the Holidays

In order to get fully prepared for the holidays, Sid has been extending his afternoon naps by 45 mins for the past two weeks.

This extra rest will help fuel the madness that occurs when he is in the presence of wrapped Christmas presents and holiday snacks (especially those that have dropped to the floor). I think he’s on to something here!

Molten Pug

Did you know that pugs can melt? Yep, it’s true. See for yourself:

It’s not really about a certain ambient temperature that does it but rather the perfect combination of an extra-comfy bed and having just wolfed down one’s dinner.

Flat-pug Friday

It’s a Flat-pug Friday today here at Pug Slope HQ. I don’t know if anyone can get down flatter than Sid. He’s definitely a master at melting into the floor. How low can you go?

Chin Restin’

Ah, what a perfect day to rest the ol’ chin.

Over the years, through much dedication and practice, Sid has refined this skill and taken it to new levels. If there are any young puglets out there that yearn to learn this ancient pug art, please observe a master at work:

New Year Delay

Happy 2017 to all of our friends both furry and fur-less!

After the holidays it got REALLY COLD in Chicago – we’re talking BELOW ZERO with the wind chill so we’re been hunkered down at Pug Slope HQ and thus haven’t had much opportunity for adventure lately.

I think Sid’s okay with that.

He told me his resolution this year is to get fatter (duh, I mean it’s the goal of every pug in existence). He’s already well on his way though as our walks have been extremely brief due to the arctic conditions outside.

So he’ll be napping, snacking, and increasing his diameter until Spring comes — then it’s Pug Boot Camp time (shhh, don’t tell him!).
