Merry Christmas 2016

Hello all my friends!

I can’t believe Christmas is almost here. I already emailed my list to Santa (he’s pretty tech-savvy) and of course it contained Wigzi balls, crunchy treats, b.c.’s — you know, the standard stuff.

On behalf of my dad and I, we’d like to wish you all Happy Holidays! Hope you all get to enjoy some time with your families, scarf down lots of treats, and play in the snow (or at the beach if you are so lucky)!

Stay warm, folks!

White Out

That first snowfall earlier this month was very pretty but the snow only lasted a day or two. Remember, though, that this is December in Chicago so naturally it wasn’t long before we got another dose. Our morning walk that day took us once again to our favorite neighborhood spot: Winnemac Park.

Upon arrival at the park, Sid became sour due to the added difficulty one experiences when one is trying to sniff out the perfect pee spot and everything sniffable is covered in thick mounds of cold fluff.

But his mood did a complete one-eighty when he set eyes, or rather nose, on the raised garden beds located in a corner of the park near the high school. The beds were overflowing with dried plant stalks which are an optimal medium for sending/receiving pee-mail, so I am told.

I do hope we keep getting snow here because the added humidity the snow brings makes it feel slightly warmer than usual and prevents the city from becoming a stark frozen tundra. And it sure is purdy.

It’s Baaaaack!

Yes, folks, it is now OFFICIALLY winter here in Chicago. We got a few inches of snow yesterday in the form of large fluffy flakes. Of course the first snow is always the best, especially when the temps are still bearable. You’ll certainly get a polar (pun intended) opposite opinion if you ask me about snow in April, but for now Sid and I are enjoying it immensely. Well, maybe me more than Sid.

Have you gotten any snow where you live yet?

Treat or Treat

Hi everyone!

It’s Sid here today. I can’t believe October is already and its end! What happened?!

I mean first it was my Birthday, and then my dad’s Birthday, and then all the leaves started falling down.

And now it’s Halloween today and I didn’t even get a chance to pull together a costume! Time to recycle one of my old ones…

So I guess I’m a turtle…but…with two heads? Confusing, I know.

Best not to think too much about it and instead focus on the TREATS.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

(Indoor) Sunbathing 101

We are well into the throes of a frigid winter, and unless you are reading this in Florida or southern California, you are probably looking for a simple method to keep from freezing.

Well, my friends, you’re in luck because today Sid would like to show you his favorite technique for beating the cold: Sunbathing! Indoors!

IMG_9782

The first step is to bundle up in some thick warm apparel, preferably dark in color (it absorbs the heat better). You might try a cozy fleece sweater similar to the one our model is sporting.

IMG_9780

The next step is to locate the spot in your home with maximum sun exposure. Keep in mind this spot will slowly move throughout the day, so be prepared to shift every hour or so.

IMG_9786

Sprawl out in a comfortable position and start absorbing those wonderful warm sun beams. That’s it!

Good luck keeping warm folks!

Merry Christmas 2015!!!

Sid and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Little Blue Riding Hood

IMG_5631

So Sid told me he wants to rewrite the story of Little Red Riding Hood with just a few minor modifications.

He’d like to change the hood color from red to navy blue. And then change the little girl to a little boy. And then change the little boy to a little pug. The whole wolf element will be removed and replaced with the visit of wealthy benevolent aunt that arrives bringing Little Red, I mean Little Blue a basket full of baby carrots. Then Little Blue and the Wealthy Benevolent Aunt will play a game of Squeaker Catch.

Do you think the Brothers Grimm would approve?
