These Four Walls

It’s been so cold here that all attempts of taking photos of Sid outside have been thwarted. The mere thought of exposing my un-gloved hand to the elements, even for a few seconds, sends shivers down my spine. The sun may be shining brightly but don’t let it fool you – this is still the dead of Winter.

Keep Me Warm O Cape of Mine

Sid and I have been spending a lot of time indoors – which for him means sleeping in various beds and for me means puttering. I wish I could take a lesson from Sid and relax more, but I feel that if I’m going to be stuck inside, it is the perfect time to take on a PROJECT. Time to scan all those old photos, weed through the closet and get rid of the old clothes, alphabetize the books, etc.

My problem is not with the coming-up-with-the-project bit – I excel at that – but rather with the staying-focused-on-one-project-until-it-is-finished bit. Sid on the other hand is a real champ when it comes to follow through. When given a Wigzi stuffed with treats and peanut butter, nothing gets in his way until he’s finished (not even a mid-day FEDEX delivery from Mr. Chewy!). The boy can really FOCUS.

April Showers

Well, it was a wet, rainy, blah sort of weekend here in Park Slope.  Let’s brighten things up a bit with this photo-flashback of a pre-Carl, pre-salt-and-pepper-muzzle, post-confidence-shirts, fun-fun-fun-in-the-California-sun-lovin’ Siddhartha Lamont.

Sigh.  Not really helping.  Let’s try to find a Sid photo-flashback that’s a little less “dripping with ennui.”

Ooph.  No.

Oy!  No!

Okay, maybe a video-flashback is what we need.

Wow, Sid.  I never knew Kool and the Gang could be such a downer.*

Er, maybe today we should just turn things over to you guys.  Did any of you pugs play any good April Fool’s pranks on your ‘rents?  Share ’em in the comments!  And let’s keep it cheery!!

*I know, I know, that’s like the fourth time I’ve used that video in a post – It’s my favorite Sid vid EVER and I need only the flimsiest excuse to toss it up on the blog.

Woe is Sid

If there’s one thing that a pug knows, it’s that life is hard.

Sometimes life is so hard you want to just flop halfway out of your bed onto the cold, unyielding floor, just so you can feel something, you know?

Like, when your favorite treat bone has been empty for two whole hours, and it’s just sitting right there!  Right there on the floor! Taunting you, reminding you of the good times you once had, when treats were bursting from each of its chewy ends, peanut butter, apples, and venison jerky spilling in every direction, a bounty so plentiful you could hardly keep up…

And now?  Nothing.

Just an empty bone…

and nothin’ but the cold, hard floor to make you feel alive.

The End.
